Terms and Conditions
By paying a deposit for one of our motorcycle tours or renting from us, you accept these terms and conditions as a binding contract between SA Motorcycle Adventures and you, the participant.
Payment, cancellation and refunds
A deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking for the tour or for motorcycle rental
The outstanding balance is required no later than 30 days prior to departure
Non-payment of the balance will be regarded as a cancellation of the booking
In the unlikely event of us cancelling the booked tour, the participant will be refunded in full
Cancelling a booking in writing 30 days or more before the commencement of a booked tour, entitles a participant to a 50% refund of deposito(not applicable to overseas tours)
No refunds will be made for cancellations for whatsoever reason made within 30 days of the commencement date of booked tour
SA Motorcycle Adventures will not be liable for any refunds once a tour has commenced, regardless of the reasons for the participant not being able to complete the tour
Security deposit and replacement of a rental motorcycle(not applicable to overseas tours)
SA Motorcycle Adventures require a deposit of ZAR25 000 prior to the departure of a tour to cover the insurance excess payable in the unfortunate event of an accident or for the repair of minor damages.
We will refund the security deposit once the motorcycle had been cleaned upon return and during a post-ride inspection found to be without any damage.
Any damage to the motorcycle amounting to below ZAR25 000 will be deducted from the deposit to cover such damage.
In the event of mechanical breakdown SA Motorcycle Adventures undertake to repair the motorcycle or to provide a replacement motorcycle within a reasonable time. If the mechanical breakdown is due to negligence of the participant, then there will be a cost involved.
It is the responsibility of each participant to take out adequate personal accident, travel and medical insurance. Such insurance is not included in the tour price.
SA Motorcycle Adventures do not accept responsibility for injury to a participant’s person or loss of or damage to a participant’s property whatsoever.
Participants must have a valid, unendorsed international motorcycle driver’s license and be at least 25 years of age.
Passport and Regulations
It is the participant’s sole responsibility to ensure that his passport, visa, driver’s license and inoculations required for the countries to be visited, are obtained well in advance and are in order. The participant will be responsible for any additional costs incurred either by the himself, or by SA Motorcycle Adventures on the participant’s behalf, as a result of non-compliance of such requirements.
All participants of SA Motorcycle Adventures operated tours are required to accept and sign an indemnity form prior to the start of the tour.
Excluded in tour packages
All items not indicated as included in our marketing material and all items of a personal nature.
Luggage and other valuables
SA Motorcycle Adventures will not be held liable for the loss of or damage to participants’ luggage, personal possessions or other valuables.
Tour dates and routes may change due to unforeseen circumstances (inclement weather, road closures, etc). We also reserve the right to make adjustments, if required, to the routes as published for such and other practical reasons.
